Hello and welcome to a new school year!
My name is Todd Sniezek and I’ll be your teacher for the upcoming school year. I’m really looking forward to helping you on your journey this year as we navigate through Geography and experience History in our Social Studies units, experiment with Scientific facts, decimate Math, activate ourselves in Health and Physical Education, literate ourselves through Language Arts, and dance, dramatize, play funky beats, and beautify the world around us in our Arts units.
So… come join me… tell me a little bit about yourself at our conference table in the classroom. Let’s turn our classroom into a learning space, a maker space, a risk taking space. Let’s say more, do more, and be more than we ever were…. together.
Things may get difficult through the year as we use our planning, processing, and critical thinking skills to express our ideas by communicating in a variety of ways through a variety of media. We will apply our new knowledge and skills into situations we already know and then transfer the same knowledge and skills into new uncharted territory. Always remember that when things get tough, we will always work though things… together.
We will be hosting a technology club in our classroom during the 2nd nutrition break on Wednesdays and Fridays and I encourage your parents to let you bring in devices so that we learn how to better use the technology that you have access to at home. I will also be coaching the boys volleyball team and encourage all students to not only try out for the but to come and cheer on your peers at home games. The game schedule will be posted on the blog when the team is announced.
So… dust off your thinking caps, grab your learning devices and let’s welcome in a new school year. Please take a look around my blog and find your weekly schedule, a calendar of events, and resources that will help you and your parents navigate through this school year. We will be using many different tools, some technology-based and some old school, but still cool. You too, will be making a blog to share all of the cool things that you are doing with your families. We will be proud of what we can all accomplish together this year.

Welcome Back to School!
To get back into the "school" of things, think of a few things that you did this summer that were unique or memorable or just a really interesting story that nobody has heard. If you want to bring in something that you found or bought on vacation or some pictures or videos that you took or found, feel free. We are going to use these to learn a little bit about each other throughout the first week of school.
We will be using Google Drive extensively this year, so if you haven't already... log into your accounts and take a look. I may have left a little challenge for you to find.
If you can't remember how to login, use the following login template: username@students.dsbn.org and whatever your password was last year. If you can't login and would like to, send me a quick email at todd.sniezek@dsbn.org and I'll reset your account for you!
I look forward to seeing all of you very shortly!
